Job Description

Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking applicants for the position of a Center Director at the Turner Child Development Center in Quanah, Texas.

The Center Director supports the Head Start program’s overall mission by fostering the creation of high-quality, responsive, respectful, and safe learning and work environments. They ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and other applicable federal and state requirements. The Center Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Head Start Center's day-to-day operations for children and staff that contributes to the growth and development of children and staff's professional growth and development. They provide effective modeling and leadership. They work collaboratively with the Program Specialists, other managers, and staff to ensure effective operational and instructional practices. The Center Director also coordinates with family service staff to ensure the empowerment and inclusion of all families enrolled at the site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 college credit hours in child development, one-year experience in a licensed child-care center, and a minimum of 6 college hours in business management.
  • An Associate degree in child development or a closely related field with at least 6 college credit hours in child development, at least two years’ experience in a licensed child-care center, and a minimum of 6 college credit hours of business management.
  • Sixty college credit hours with at least nine college credit hours in child development and at least two years’ experience in a licensed child-care center, and a minimum of 6 college hours of business management.
  • A child-care administrator’s certificate with at least 15 college credit hours in child development and at least two years’ experience in a licensed child-care center, and a minimum of 3 college hours of business management
  • Child Development Associate credential or Certified Child-Care Professional credential and at least two years of experience in a licensed child-care center and a minimum of 6 college hours of business management
  • A day-care administrator’s credential issued by a professional organization or educational institution and approved by Licensing based on criteria specified in Subchapter P of Chapter 745 of 746.1015 (relating to Day-Care Administrator’s Credential Program) and at least two years of experience in a licensed child-care center.
  • Nine college credit hours in child development and at least three years of experience in a licensed child-care center and a minimum of nine college credit hours of business management instead of the six required under other options)

Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a licensed child-care center required.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Head Start experience preferred.
